We’re thrilled to share the exciting news of our rebranding: HiredHippo is now Hipo! Pronounced “high-po,” our new name perfectly encapsulates our core mission. A high-potential employee (HIPO) possesses the ability, engagement, and aspiration to excel in senior, critical positions. These top talents significantly enhance business performance and align closely with a company’s culture and vision.
Why Hipo?
Our original name was inspired by the concept of “High Potential,” symbolized by the Hippo. As we continue to grow and evolve, we wanted a name that reflects our commitment to excellence and simplicity in hiring. Hence, we’ve dropped the “P” to become Hipo.
We focused on keeping the name aligned with our old brand so people could still tie our brand’s essence—an aggressive hippo—to us. We are moving to a more niche market, not a product for everyone. To truly help people, we needed to focus on what we do best: matching high-potentials faster and with higher quality than anyone else. This shift allows us to decrease time to hire, improve quality conversations, and build lasting employee and employer relationships.

The slight spacing between the ‘hi’ and ‘po’ keeps the intention behind high potential clear.

Our choice of grayscale with gold hues to accent helps to communicate the elevated, high potential experience that we offer. Did you notice the slight blue hue in our main black colour? From fonts to colour, these subtle touches demonstrate our attention to detail in all aspects.
